Powis Castle is a must-visit for history lovers and garden enthusiasts alike. This medieval fortress, built around 1200 and rising dramatically above its world-famous terraced gardens, is one of the finest castles in Wales. It's managed by the National Trust and just a short drive from Hidden Valley.
Spectacular Lake Vyrnwy is another highlight, ideal for an evening walk around the lake through the innovative Sculpture Park, followed by dinner at the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel. The scenery is breathtaking at any time of year.



ADVENTURE
Something for Everyone
For those who fancy something a bit more adventurous there is also plenty to get stuck into in the local area. Visit Border Quad Trekking to try your hand at various activities including Quad Bikes, Clay Shooting and Archery all set in the most spectacular scenery.
Slightly further afield but well worth the visit is Zip World. Set out over three locations with numerous activities including the World's Fastest Zip Wire & Cavern Trampolines.
An extremely popular day out from Hidden Valley during the summer is a day trip to the beach. Within an hour you can be at a selection of beaches along the Mid Wales coast including the beautiful village of Aberdovey.
Golfing is another popular attraction in the area with owners from the park playing at many local courses including Welshpool, Lakeside & Llanymynech.
Mid Wales is a walker's paradise with endless local footpaths such as Owain Glyndwr's Way and the Offa's Dyke Path, whilst the mountain of Cadair Idris is a short drive away. The waterfall at Pistyll Rhaeader is another spectacular must visit whilst the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct at Llangollen has to be seen to be believed!
